PMS Library Scan Stuck

Hello,

PMS has been scanning my music library for days. Granted my music collection is quite large… but I’m thinking its stuck.

I have attacked my logs. If you need any other info please let me know!

Yep, music cannot be ‘dumped’ in all at once when you have more than 5000 actual tracks. The database goes nuts

you might as well stop the scanning.

  1. Make certain you have your media grouped such that you can add in smaller chunks of up to about 5000 tracks at a time.
  2. There is no limit to how many directories you can add.
    e.g /nas/music/a , /nas/music/b, /nas/music/c, etc.
  3. After each section completes: Optimize Database
  4. Add the next directory and let it continue
  5. “Wash, rinse, repeat” until done

OK, if this is true, it is a ridiculous requirement. Where is this requirement listed in the documentation? Many people have more than 5k files. I have about 250k files, and have not had scanning issues when adding far greater than 5k files at one time. If this is truly an issue, it is a Bug, and should be addressed as such.
