Player Version#: Version 3.104.1
Over the past several weeks I’ve had media deleted from my WIN 7 PMS apparently when the server performs scheduled tasks at 2AM, which is when they are scheduled for. Strangely, it’s usually the same files - My PBS Nature series folder, Big Bang Theory series folder, and Baskets TV series folder. Complete series files are deleted to the recycle bin which is fortunate because they can be restored but must be properly put back in the library and rescanned. The posters for the folders have the red garbage can on them in the morning when I check my PMS.
I know it’s happeming during the scan because the deleted files always list the time as 2AM in my recycle bin and they are always together.
I’ve unchecked “Allow Media Deletion” in the Library settings and that has no effect whether on or off. I’ve reinstalled the server software and it still happens.
If anyone can provide any help for a solution to this bizarre deletion situation, I’d be very grateful.
I just installed the latest update and I’m hoping that will work things out. Don’t have any other problems with my PMS and have been delighted with it for several years as a Lifetime Plex Passer.
Thanks. I never said Plex was deleting the data. I said that the data was being deleted at the same time that a PMS scan was running overnight. Running WIN 7 Pro SP1 up to date.
Go to the top level of these tv shows in your Plex library
Edit them
go to the ‘Advanced’ tab
set ‘Keep’ = ‘All Episodes’
and ‘Delete episodes after playing’ = ‘Never’
I have those settings already marked as you mention in the DVR function “Record Options” when I record shows but cannot find one for a TV Library. They are not in my DVR but in a separate TV Library folder. Others have disappeared similarly which were not recorded on Plex DVR but DVD ripped.
AAAAAAHHHHH! Had you directed me to the very familiar pencil icon I’d have found settings. I’ve never used that! I will check ALL my TV shows and see that it is set properly for all.
The big test will be tonight. If all is well tomorrow, as I expect, This will have been the concern.
Thanks OK! After years of using this fine program I am still learning great stuff from great people here at Plex Forums. Much appreciated. I’ll let you know only if problem returns!
