Pms.msi

General question - not going to waste time looking up server numbers etc.

I had a VERY old version of PLEX media server working wonderfully for many years through my Roku. Just recently I was able to get it working just fine with my Sony smart TV.

Decided to try it on another TV with a Firestiock. It told me my server was too old. No surprise - it was 1.0 - they required 1.3 or more.

So today I downloaded the latest version and tried to install. And got the error of pms.msi missing.

Did some searching on here and found many “suggestions” that were - to be honest - ludicrous in their complexity. Why on Earth would a piece of software not simply load? Why would a use have to go through such time consuming work - especially since it looks as if the chance of success was not anywhere near 100%

So if someone can point me to a SIMPLE solution for this - I’m in. In fact, tell me I need to buy Plex Pass and I’ll do that too (I loved PLEX until today).

In the meantime, I’ll look for other alternatives - though to be honest I doubt KODI or others are anywhere near the popularity / benefit of PLEX.

Yet - if it simply doesn’t work - what choice do I have?
