PMS no settings after subscription renewal, no local media

My subscription was updated and now my PMS acts like there is no PMS running at my house. It was working just fine that morning. I have verified that my subscription is active and was referred to go here from billing.

You know when you first try Plex on the website for the very first time. It has their Plex Media for free to watch. That’s all I’m seeing now. All of my managed users are still there and can login but see the same thing.

Things I have tried to fix this:

  1. Reboot
  2. Update
  3. Go back to previous version
  4. Check DNS, working.
  5. Log in , log out on hosting local Ubuntu server on plex
  6. Click on “+Your Media”, directs me to download PMS, and this is coming from local:32400

Any one have any ideas?

I’m dealing with the same thing.

In chrome, it keeps telling me I need to download the media server (which I’ve already done). In IE and Firefox, it says Plex is not available. In the Plex Windows client, it just spins and never loads.

Selfishly I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one. Now if we could just get some answers.

Might need to log into the plex server directly and re-claim it

@OttoKerner Tried that. That method doesn’t change anything. Didn’t even ask me to log back in.

have you tried using the IP address of the server directly? If so try logging out and back in.

Just found the logs and found these errors:

ERROR - Subscription: Error refreshing sub: No container found
ERROR - EPG[tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud]: unable to retrieve service provider details
ERROR - downloadContainer: expected MediaContainer element, found html

This worked to get my files to show up again, however, it won’t let me claim my server. It says I need to but when I try nothing happens or it times out depending on the internet browser I’m using. Tried chrome, Firefox, IE, and the windows app.

I got it working. local:32400 wasn’t working, but connecting from outside the network was.
solution was to http://192.168.x.x - not https:// - from another computer inside the network – login, had the triangle warning, went to settings General, claim server, error, sign out, sign in, follow setup, sign out, sign in, follow setup. Checked all other settings including remote.
Everything there just like it was before.
Sure wish I knew why this happened.

It might have worked with 127.0.0.1 instead of local

I’ve started seeing this recently. My server is just not there anymore, sometimes Plex has stopped/crashed and if I mouse over the tray icon (Windows 10) it disappears. But lately it is not.
