PMS not working properly with IPv6-only

Server Version#: current
Player Version#: current

Hi,

I am trying to run PMS on an Nvidia shield pro TV 2019 model. PMS works fine from within my local network.

Due to the fact, that my ISP (Deutsche Glasfaser) is working with native IPv6 internt connections and no public IPv4 is available I am trying to get acces to my PMS from outside via IPv6.

I tried many things like Portmappers etc. and entered the URLs within the network section of the server. But direct connection doesn´t seem to work.

Is there any, fully operational, solution for accessing the server via IPv6 without any 3rd-party-workarounds?

I am using a FritzBox 7590 and my connection is 400 MBit/s down and 200 MBit/s up.

It would be great, if one could fully access the server via IPv6.

Thanks for reading and your help.

First of all:

  • do the clients also have IPv6? If you’re trying to play media on, a mobile phone on a regular (IPv4) 4G network, or your PC at work that’s on an IPv4-only corporate LAN, it won’t work.
  • have you opened port 32400 towards your server in the FritzBox IPv6 firewall?
  • what does your custom server URL look like? You can post it here with some numbers/letters scrambled

^that. It is technically not possible to directly connect from ipv4 to ipv6. That’s where you must use a port mapper.
So I would check what type of IP your mobile provider gives you. If I recall correctly, Vodafone has not touched ipv6 yet while Telekom has. O2 I have no clue what they do.
If your mobile connection is also in the ipv6 network, then it should work, but I haven’t checked myself. Ipv6 support of Plex is still limited as I recall.
