Setting upa nas box for me and my friends to use. This will be different then my home one, this one will be mainly just for friends, sharing videos etc.
I have it setup and it is able to scan my custom videos, and music, but I have a question with remote access.
For my friends to connect remotely and play my movies, do I need to get them a free Plex account, or can I do this via Managed users and just give them my WAN IP and port and let them login?
I think they will need to create a free Plax account, but was wondering if they can skip the e-mail, and account setup ( I know it takes 3 minutes) but some of my friends are absolutely clueless, and dont want 13 calls about how to create a Plex account, so I’d like to be able to use the Managed Users Option, if I even can.
FYI - I will be utilizing DDNS and a Dynamic Update Client to keep my IP up-to-date and will create a A Record for them to access.
