Pms on one nas, want to find library on 2nd nas

Server Version#:1.20.0.3125-9661fc77c
Player Version#: 4.39.1
NAS Model: DS1815+ and DS1819+
DSM: 6.2.3-25426 Update 2 on both

so my searches can’t seem to find the answer i’m looking for. i’m assuming it is very simple but so far i’m failing.
i have a DS1815+ that is running pms and also had all my libraries on it. i’m running out of space so i thought i would get another nas so got a DS1819+.
i had the idea to move my tv shows from the 1815 to the 1819 to create some space on both. i copied over some of the files and wanted to see if i could get plex to see the library there.
i tried editing the existing tv show library to have a second folder and attempted to put the path as unc to the shared folder on the 1819 (\servername\tv shows). but when i ran the scan it still only showed the media connected to the original 1815 library (/volume1/tv shows).
so i created a completely new tv show library, still using unc to the 1819 and tried scanning again. nothing shows up in the library.

so am i not able to use unc from the pms on the 1815 to the shared folder on the volume on the 1819? is there a better way to see the data?
do i need to create a ‘plex’ user on the 1819 like the 1815 has (i couldn’t remember but was thinking this user was created in the pms install?)?

had a hard time wrapping my head around it as i tried to imagine what you were saying. so i decided just try it one step at a time. works brilliantly! THANKS!
