Update on current position with regards to crashes when hardware transcoding

There is a bug that came in after version 1.18.0.1944-f2cae8d6b between this release and 1.18.1.1966-10fc2f8d3. As mentioned in my earlier post here and in other threads, I am working with a number of users to identify the change that brought the problem. These crashes have only been seen on windows and they occur after heap corruptions - which makes it difficult to get good dumps.

There is an intel driver bug that leads to crashes when hardware transcoding. This has now been tracked to specific versions of the intel driver - and is detailed in this post

It is not clear yet, if an old problem (from 2018) of crashes has been addressed by recent updates to the transcoder and ffmpeg - these arose when running Plex Media Server as a Service or through Scheduled Task or headless through RDP session. So should avoid doing that whilst we are still trying to establish what the current crashes are
