My network setup is wireless router in one room with an AP in another room. Weird thing is PMS server (Win10) can only be discovered by the client (iOS) if they are both connected to the same AP. i.e. to the router at the same time, or to the AP at the same time. When they are connected different AP’s, client cannot discover server. Both devices are on the same LAN.
Also I noticed that if I set ‘preferred network interface’ to ‘Wireless’ instead of ‘Any’, the server cannot be discovered under any circumstances, even when on the same AP.
Anyone can help me with this? Much appreciated.
Solved: there is a bug with TP Link AP where DHCP is not turned off in AP mode. After a firmware upgrade, issue resolved.
