PMS Picking Up A Wrong Public IP

Hi everyone,

My PMS is picking up a wrong public IP which makes it impossible for me to get remote connection working.

Can I manually change the public IP or add a DDNS hostname since I didn’t buy a static IP from my IPS?

Thank you for your answers in advance!

PMS should detect your IP address. If it is seeing the wrong thing, you may have a network configuration issue.

To add to MovieFan,

You may manually specify the remote access URL in Settings - Server - Network - Show Advanced.

Thank you for your reply.

Can I just add the DDNS name there and it’ll just automatically try to connect to it instead of the Pub IP that is picking up now?

Edit:

I’ve a double NAT setup. Port forwarding is set up on both routers and it should work fine as the VPN server that is on the same machine that is running PMS is working fine.

PMS is currently picking up 200.x.x.x Pub IP while when I resolve my ddns name with $nslookup I get an IP 100.x.x.x.

I’ve tried putting the PMS machine directly to the main router and I have the same issue, so double NAT is not causing any problems as its properly configured.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

The reason you set the URL is because you’ve already resolved the DNS part of that yourself.

you’re independent of what PMS is picking. (which is problematic unto itself for anyone without all the route tables)

Your URL (which is the name), uses the correct IP.

I have a FQDN (DNS in CloudFlare), I tell PMS the FQDN of my server and publish it that way.

The port value is independent and however you want to handle it. (auto or manually set)
