PMS Schedule Task Caused my NAS overheat?

I forgot this is an Intel chip. It’s slightly different but you’re really close.

[chuck@lizum ~.2003]$ cd /sys/class/thermal
[chuck@lizum thermal.2004]$ ls
cooling_device0@ cooling_device12@ cooling_device16@ cooling_device5@ cooling_device9@ thermal_zone3@
cooling_device1@ cooling_device13@ cooling_device2@ cooling_device6@ thermal_zone0@ thermal_zone4@
cooling_device10@ cooling_device14@ cooling_device3@ cooling_device7@ thermal_zone1@
cooling_device11@ cooling_device15@ cooling_device4@ cooling_device8@ thermal_zone2@
[chuck@lizum thermal.2005]$ cat termal_zone*/type
cat: 'termal_zone*/type': No such file or directory
[chuck@lizum thermal.2006]$ cat thermal_zone*/type
acpitz
acpitz
pch_skylake
iwlwifi_1
x86_pkg_temp
[chuck@lizum thermal.2007]$ cat thermal_zone4/type
x86_pkg_temp
[chuck@lizum thermal.2008]$ cat thermal_zone4/temp
46000
[chuck@lizum thermal.2009]$

The one to watch is the index with ‘x86_pkg_temp’ (type).
grab the ‘temp’ value

Here you can see my CPU is 46 C

Thanks, I started the schedule task last night. CPU workload is not as high as before. Maybe the sonic analysis is completed. The temp was around 60 during that period.

Anyway, Thanks all of you, I think we found the root cause of this issue.

That’s MUCH more reasonable and where I would expect the CPU to be at under heavy processing load.

Yes. But you can see in the graph, the CPU workload is about 30% at that time. Some days ago, it is much higher and keep for long hours.

Surely, the additional step is I have cleaned the dust, it should be helpful.

Thanks.
