PMS seems offline (ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE)

Hi guys,

I have a bit of an odd question. Somehow my PMS will not response anymore. DSM says it is up and running, but i cannot connect through the web interface or the plex apps. I think i changed something in the network settings, that it cannot be reached from outside.

Is there a way to completly reinstall plex, so all settings and stuff are gone? Or do i have to reset my NAS and save the 3 TB of files somewhere else temporarly?

I have installed:
DSM 6.2.2-24922 Update 4
PMS 1.16.5.1552 (I also tried the 1.18.3.2156 and 1.18.4.2171)

Sadly i cannot provide any serverlogs, since there is no way i know how i could reach the interface.

Control Panel - Shared Folder - EDIT the Plex share - Permissions tab
Give your username R/W permission.

File Station - > Plex / Library / Application Support / Plex Media Server

Right-click Logs -> Compress to Logs.zip

Download to computer and then attach here.

To your question of removing Plex and starting fresh, Yes it’s easily done.
I’ll help you correct the problem you have now if possible – if you prefer.

It’s definitely locked up trying to access each of your defined media shares.

On Synology, user plex must be given permission to read or read/write.

I would start with this, restart Plex, and re-evaluate.

I have tried to configure the access rights and restart both, plex and the NAS.
See the attached picture for the details of the plex access rights. All my movies and series are in the “videos” share.

I did the following:
RW → restart plex → test → restart NAS → test → set rw to ro → restart plex → test
all tests were negative.

Sure thing, here they are.

A recommendation: Don’t use the default video share from Synology. It never works correctly. It is somehow reserved for Video Station. Permissions never work correctly there. I recommend creating a new share to your liking and move content there.

This is a permissions problem. User plex can’t read it.

I will try, but opera tells me that the site doesn’t work. (same for firefox).

(192.168.170.133 did not send any data)

and synology tells me that my pms is running.

is there a way for windows as well? otherwise i have to quickly set up a linux vm.

powershell and cmd won’t recognise “curl”.

EDIT:
It seems like i can connect via the iOS app and over plex.tv all of a sudden, but the website is still not accessable on the local network. (the NAS web interface is accessable)

EDIT:
I could figure it out. The “secure connection” was the problem, since inside my network i cannot connect via https.

Now everything is working fine, since i could change the network settings over the plex.tv website.
