PMS "server" cannot be found from Xbox One

I’ve got a simple wired lan network at home and for the life of me I can’t figure out why the Plex Xbox One app can’t find the PMS. I have no issues from accessing things from the PMS server or android devices from that client. I’m looking for suggestions on how to resolve this issue. I’ve tried everything I can think of and it just isn’t working. Note that this was working somewhat intermittently a month back but now it pretty much never connects.

Is your PMS connected to plex.tv? By that I mean you’re both signed in with the web app AND the server. On the server settings page do you see Fully accessible outside your network under the Remote Access tab?

I’m having the same issue and I do see the “Fully accessible outside your network” but its green with a checkmark. My laptop will play no problem, but my xbox says server unavailable.

Yes, I have port forwarding setup correctly and PMS (http://localhost:…) shows it as “Fully accessible outside your network”. Perhaps I’m assuming a bit here, but the reason why I believe PMS is configured properly and this is an issue with the Xbox One client is I have no issues accessing content on other clients while on my local network or otherwise. This includes the web UI and android clients.

Any other suggestions? PMS and the xbox are on the same lan subnet (192.168.0.X). I’m signed into Xbox live before I open the client app.

Are there any logs available for review within the Xbox One client? Given that the Xbox takes 10-15 seconds before showing the unavailable message, I’m guessing there wouldn’t be anything helpful in the PMS logs.

Son of a…I figured it out. The problem was PMS was set to require secure connections (Server, Settings, Network) and the XBox One client doesn’t support that.

When I sign in via username and password from the Xbox app, it sure would’ve been nice if it could’ve alerted me to potential PMS configurations which would prevent access.
