Since version 1.22 of the PMS, each (of the two) updates (done via Plex Web) leaves the DVR non-functional until I do a server restart.
Yesterday night, the Windows server crashed (was not awake enough in the morning to get server logs, but I can get them now, if you need them).
Today, I did the second PMS beta software update, and the PMS showed “exclamation marks” on each of the recordings (which is a perfect sign that it will not record). After a server restart, DVR now seems fully operational (will see in two hours from now if first planned recording goes well).
