PMS Temporarily Unreachable during media scanning

Every time I add a file to one of my media libraries, while Plex is scanning the file, the server becomes unreachable from my other computer. About 5 minutes worth, usually. This is a recent development, been happening maybe a few months now. Not devastating, just annoying. Wondered if there was anything I can do about it.
