PMS transcodes Live TV AC3 5.1 audio on AC3 5.1 capable device

Wondering if Plex Player determines if to transcode based on what SHIELD reports as supported formats for a connected device?

Issue we have is when watching Live DVB-T with AC3 5.1 audio on our Panasonic TH-P50VT20A, it is transcoded to AAC.

But if in Advanced Sound Options on the SHIELD settings I enable “Manual” mode selecting AC3 (Dolby Digital) Plex plays the audio directly and its fine.

This makes me think Plex uses the SHIELD’S EDID info of that device.

Strangely enough when I use the HDHomeRun app to watch the same AC3 5.1 channel it works regardless of the SHIELD setting being on AUTO or MANUAL.

I could leave the setting on manual but the issue is we switch between devices and the AUTO mode normally works really well.
