Force transcoding of specific audio codecs on Shield TV?

How can I force the Plex-app on NVIDIA Shield TV to always transcode audio for anything except AC3 and DTS when using HDMI-passthrough? The option is there on the regular Plex-app on e.g. my phone, but the Android TV-version of Plex doesn’t show anything such. Why does the Android TV-version not have such an option in the first place, when Plex is very clearly capable of transcoding the audio?

Before you ask: yes, I do want to use both HDMI-passthrough and yes, I do want any audio-codec except those two codecs to be transcoded. No, I do not want video transcoded.

Set passthrough = optical in Plex app settings.

Then select AC3 and DTS in the codex options that will appear next to the passthrough setting.

What happens when you play TrueHD, EAC3, etc audio?

You can also try disabling audio codecs in the Nvidia Shield audio settings.

Some Reddit-posts also said that doing what you suggested should work, so out of a hunch, I powered my whole setup fully off for a bit and it appears to be working now. I guess something was stuck or something?

Anyway, I am very much satisfied that it does work, whatever the reason is that it didn’t work before powering everything off. Thank you very, very much.
