PMS v1.32.3.7192 Web Player skipping randomly in videos

Server Version#: 1.32.3.7192
Player Version#: 4.100.1

Hope someone can help,
I have noticed recently over the last 2 - 3 weeks when playing videos using Plex Web player on Chrome or Edge, it will skip ahead at random intervals during playback.
The issues occurs with both films as TV series, the skip can be anywhere from a few seconds, to a couple of mins of video
The most recent issue occurred playing back TopGun Maverick, it skipped over 10 times during playback, sometimes jumping over a couple of mins ahead.
I have tested by playing back on different devices on either WiFi or LAN connection, same issue.
The issue occurs at random times during playback, each time the video is played.

The issue only appears to be on the web player, the same video plays ok on Plex for Tizen, iOS or WIndows.

Prior to this all videos played back without any issues on the web player

Has anyone had similar issues recently?

Anyone experienced this issue - Im still having issues on the Web Player

I have also enabled the “Use alternate streaming protocol for video playback” this results in a black screen during playback, but it doesn’t skip at all on the same videos from listening to the audio

I have enabled the debug logs on both the player and server if someone is able to look through them as see what is causing the the skipping of playback.

Logs.zip (133.3 KB)
webplayerdebug.txt (119.8 KB)

I have used the Windows PMP but which plays back without skipping but causes high CPU 30 40% usage on average, which means the fans kick in on my laptop so I cant hear the video  so Id rather use the web player which only see the cpu hit 10 - 12%

@OttoKerner - would you be able to help or any ideas what else I could try to resolve the issue?

I have never experienced such an issue myself.
I’d start experimenting with settings (most likely, but not necessarily related to power savings or hardware acceleration) in the web browser, the operating system where the web browser is running on, the video device driver, or the sound driver software.

Thanks I will try some further testing

I have only notcied the issue happening in the last couple of months - I have tested with Chrome and Edge on Win11 both show the same skipping issue
I guess it could be something browser related rather than plex related

@OttoKerner - So I have been doing some testing to pinpoint the issue. Here is what ive tried so far:
Tested on Surfacebook, Dell laptop on WiFi and LAN both plugged in and on battery, also a desktop on LAN
Microsoft Edge Chromium v115 - still same issue
Google Chrome v115 - still the same issue
Firefox v115 - currently no issue

Ive checked my router and tested internal network speed on WiFi 50+ Mb/s Avg. LAN 114 Mb/s avg , downloading several 4Gb movies files from the NAS to the device

Set all devices to use High Power mode still the same issue
It appears to be an issue with Chromium browsers as Firefox doesnt have the issue

I have update PMS 1.32.5.7349 and web player 4.108.0 0 still the issue persists

As a final test, I deleted the docker container and all config and databases, created a fresh container with new databases and imported the media again, after about an hour of running and playing various TV shows it started to skip again

The CPU and RAM usage on the NAS (hosting the PMS docker container) were less than 10% usage

Im at a loss what else to test to further pinpoint the issue appart from a Chromium based browser

@OttoKerner - I have been running Firefox along side Edge and Chrome latest updates - on 2 different Windows based devices - Edge and Chrome are still skipping are random intervals - however Firefox is solid, playback is stable with no skipping
