My experience streaming from my server to a desktop browser player has been degrading over time.
In the past few weeks it started skipping ahead by a few seconds. Backing up and replaying would still skip the same segment, but closing the video and reloading it from where it left off, it would play fine and the problem wouldn’t show up for a wile.
In the last week this has started happening more and more, and in the last couple days it has now started appearing as though it starts to buffer, with a loader, but the audio keeps playing normally and then the video starts catching up in fits and starts, alternating between pausing with a loader and showing the video extra sped up. The video cannot be paused properly while it is doing this.
I have also increasingly had videos not load at all on the first attempt, it just spins forever, but if I close out the player and try again it plays instantly.
I have these issues on all of my computers when using Chrome and Safari on Mac, or Chrome and Firefox on Windows. I have these issues on the Windows 10 PC that also acts as the Plex Media Server, and I have them on multiple MacBook Pros on both local and remote networks. I do not have any of these issue on iOS apps, and streaming to Apple TVs works amazingly well, which makes it seem like not an issue with the server, but with the web player.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there anything I can do to fix this?
