the last 2 updates ive been having skipping issues when i watch my older saved tv shows. newly added eps work fine, and it doesnt seem to effect movies, but if i want do a binge watch of something i havent watch in years the eps skip from a few seconds to whole minutes randomly.
the files are fine when played back with vlc, i mainly use the web-player on my laptop to watch, the sever is on PC with a NAS library
anyone else having this issue and or know how to fix this?
I’ve been observing this behavior too. Random skips of about 10 seconds at a time. Really disruptive when watching using the Plex web client. The videos play back fine in VLC. Plex 1.18.0.1944 on Ubuntu Linux.
I am having the same issue. I am running the most recent plex-pms docker image as my back end and Chrome and Firefox as the browsers. The issue also occurs when using the Android client. VLC plays the files fine for me as well.
I’ve been seeing the same behavior but only when playing through the web app outside my home. I though my issue was clearly a bandwidth upload speed from my home as the issue resolves when reducing the quality. (I have very low tier service). I have no issue chrome casting, playing locally, or using web app for the same content on my home network. I do find it odd that the time jumps are consistently in the same spot. I can rewind and it will skip over the same ~10 seconds. I would think buffering would prevent this issue.
Having the same issue here. I’ve accessed the same PMS remotely for the past year or two with no issues (watching the same shows and same episodes, don’t judge!). I have gigabit 1 up & 1 down, so it’s not an upload limitation.
