I have one podcast (The Lawfare Podcast, 1000+ episodes) where I have all but the most recent few episodes marked as played. On Deck reflects the correct next episode, but clicking play always starts with episode one, even if I click play from a different episode’s detail page. This seems similar to an old “first aired” bug with TV shows (On Deck plays first episode in season, no matter which ep is up next - #4 by DomC) and has basically made this podcast unavailable to me. The behavior is the same in the web player as well as the iOS app. I’m happy to do additional testing / provide logs if it helps get the issue resolved.
