Podcast behavior needs much customization. I’d like to see these feature before I could consider Plex a replacement for a mobile podcast app.

  • Delete downloaded episodes immediately upon completion (100% played by default, percentage would be adjustable by user)
  • Download/play order able to be prioritized by oldest first or newest first.
  • Playlist generated can then be adjusted by user. If playlist were defaulted to play oldest first, I can pick an episode and prioritize it if I want to listen to it sooner
  • Option to only download unfinished episodes (less than 100% played by default) unless overrode by user
  • Ability to select multiple episodes in episode list to mark as played/unplayed rather than the current system of a single episode at a time or the entire feed

I’d love to make Plex my main podcast app, but without these sorts of features, I just can’t do it. I’d also like (I don’t know if it’s possible on their player, although I have seen it in other podcast apps) if there was a way to adjust whether the ‘next’ command, sent from a Bluetooth remote, skipped to the next track, or fast-forwarded 30 seconds, at least for the mobile apps, where you might want to be able to make those adjustments without having to pull out your phone.
