It would be wonderful to be able to click/press play on a podcast episode and listen to that episode without all previous episodes (which have generally already been played) being added to the queue.
It seems podcast episodes are currently handled as if they were album tracks rather than episodes.

Issues with podcasts on iOS (app version 5.13) discovered this week:
Playing an episode automatically adds 20 previous episodes to the queue despite already listening to those episodes.
If I miss a few episodes I will go to play the oldest unlistened episode and instead of adding the newer unlistened episodes to the queue it adds 20 older episodes despite already listening to those.
Cannot edit or clear the queue list: If i try to clear that queue list so it doesn’t auto-play the older episode…
Can someone explain the logic here? It’s that same thing in the main app so Plex must think this is the way it is supposed to work. They are wrong.
As in the video, the queue is filled with music. New poddcasts are in the on deck section. Long Pressing on one of the podcasts and selecting play starts the podcast BUT also adds every single episode to the queue that are already played.

I’ve searched the forums, but haven’t fond a topic on this. When I am adding a podcast episode to my queue, the entire catalogue of that podcast is added instead. This makes building a queue inconvenient, as I would have to use play next instead, but I may not want it to play next, I want that episode to play after the others I have queued up. Same complain here. I think I must be doing it wrong and I’m glad I found this post.
I tried to change view (in iOS app) from shows to episodes (drop-down menu up-left). But same behavior. The only way I’ve been able to work around it was:
play an episode
go to queue
swipe down and tap on “clear”, the current playing episode remains
from that moment you can open any episode and “add to queue” or “play next”
It is not a showstopper but pretty annoying.
