Pointing Synology to synology drive cloud Itunes libryary

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to simply point the Plex server to the Itunes folder that I have located in my Synology Drive Client. I don’t want the server pointing at the local drive as that computer is often shutdown and I want the entire music library up 24/7 on the synology NAS.

When I browse around, I am not able to get to that directory for some reason, and when I put in the path manually, nothing seems to happen.

The idea is that whenever I update or add any music to the itunes library or playlists, the changes just transfer over to plex.

Any thoughts, or do I need to install the plugin and do this a different way.

Server Version#: 1.18.5.2309
Player Version#: 4.12.3

Does user Plex have permission to read the share?

Linux (which Synology uses for DSM) is strict with permissions.
Just because your username can see it doesn’t mean Plex can.

Control Panel - Shared Folders - EDIT (the share) - Permissions tab

as soon as posted I sat back in reflection wondering if i forgot anything.

and that was it, I forgot to put it in a position where plex has permission to look and it appears to be updating the library.

Do I still need to install the itunes plugin and direct it to the XML to get playlists, or is that going to happen automatically?

My mind has seriously been blown with how easy, simple and fast plex has been so far. Amazing work.

I can’t speak to the plug-ins.

As for importing iTunes playlists, it’s a trip.
I tried to make it work once. Linux pathnames and Windows-based iTunes doesn’t work together (obviously). Shortly after that I deleted my remaining Windows VM.
