Saying "i have tried everything" means absolutely nothing.
Go here and read how to report issues - https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201643703-Reporting-issues-with-Plex-Media-Server
Then start a thread about YOUR issue.
I have reported my issue in another thread where plenty of other people are having the same issue and tried everything in this case means I have tried the troubleshooting steps and suggestions from other users do you actually read posts before taking pot shots?
Not usable in my scenario. My server is a fairly low end machine and all my videos are transcoded to a format that will work with Direct Play.
The app defaults to 4mbps 720p, which causes the server to transcode and peg the CPU. If I switch it to maximum it's already too late, the poor little thing is already overloaded.
There needs to be a better way to set the quality/direct play settings.
DLNA still works fine, so I can't complain too much.

Why yes, I did. I even went and looked at what you had posted here: https://forums.plex.tv/topic/126286-plex-server-unavailable/page-2#entry756080 BEFORE I posted my first response.
This is the sum of ALL you posted in the other thread (as of 7:50pm EST on 10/28/14):
I have had same....so what's the deal?
and :
Tried absolutely everything and still no luck this is rediculous
So again, your "everything" is absolutely meaningless. WHAT did you try? Did you try blowing out the sun? Did you try squeezing an elephant through the eye of a needle?
I am pretty sure I know exactly what your problem is - it is a PBKAC error. Until you fix that, you will never get it working.
Good luck! Have a great day!
Oh so you are one of those no it all smug types with a penchant for pedantry should I have said “I have tried everything relevant to this emediate situation”? By the way you could have simply posted your help suggestion/theory rather than go on a rant utterly unnecessary
unwarranted and pathetic “friendly helpful forums” not while you prowl the boards trolling anyone who you think is sufficiently weak and dumb to run away crying
I am sure in the future I will be satisfied. It's nice with they have so far but far from a finished product. Don't take all the No's as they don't like it merely that they think there is more to be done. Thanks for taking the time to build such an app.
For now it is start "satisfied" !
Awesome!
hi
it is display the Arabic subtitle in wrong way :(
i think the app itself is great, it makes a nice change to using DLNA on the 360. However it would be nice if channels were available and also access to the music and photo libraries. I don't like the default of 4meg 720P playback, I'd prefer the default to be Maximum.
I think the quality is lousy on the XBOX360. Why can't I set the quality to maximum (1080p)???
I had initial problems getting my libraries to load. I had to log out and log back in and they finally loaded. I selected a show to play and it started then I got the never ending circle. My Plex server is on the same machine that I use for my extenders. It is an i7 with 32G of ram and can serv up Media Center recordings to three extenders at the same time with no issues. I find it hard to believe that it cannot feed one Xbox 360 lower res mp4 files without choking. I will continue to work on things.
Wow.. there seems to be so many varying experiences, it's interesting. Assuming people's machines are beefy enough to transcode the content, I wonder if most of these issues are coming down to home network setup? Mine is working great, but I'm on a wired network from my media server PC to my Xbox.
The Xbox One poll shows only 35-39% being unsatisfied, but the 360 poll is showing almost 50/50 split. I realize our sample group here is a lot smaller (and the time that the 360 app has been out is only a few days), but it's interesting nonetheless.
I think the interface is clean and works nicely. It does seem to be unable to play full screen for me however. I tried changing the ratio on my TV settings and it still would not let me stretch to full screen. I get black bars on both sides. I do not get this with Chromecast on the same TV. The Xbox 360 plays dvds at full screen and Netflix is at full screen just not the Plex app. Any suggestions? Thanks.
It seems more cluttered to me than the XB1 interface, using both units for me, I find that I like SOME of the clarification when a movie starts playing, (720p, no subs, audio track etc...). But the layout and the "sounds" are annoying and I find it takes so long to switch from one section to another I get annoyed. I did not read any release notes for this one, fully admit, saw you guys on the forums and went and grabbed it on the XB360 app store.
Of course, this is a personal opinion, and after having the joy of using the XB1 app for the past little bit, the interface, is a bit of a disappointment, I feel the regress in design. I understand this may be completely out of the Plex Team's hands with the assets available, nevertheless it's still felt.
Oh, one more thing, the process for changing servers is WAY more cumbersome on the XB360 app.
With the other couple members having issues with the full-screen view, I'm not having this issue, perhaps you could find this as a TV setting?
very happy , just missing trailers.
@dukeg,
if you have the 360 media remote then pressing the display button switches between different settings on the plex app (zoom, stretch) etc. Not sure what the alternative key/button is on the 360 gaming controller.
It's a good start. So "Satisfied" is kind of a tough one to answer. Again...thanks to those that put this bad boy together, but for now I'll stick w/ Plex for Samsung in my man cave...
....OR if at work...I'll use Plex/Web and FLING to my Big Screen using PHT for music...or just the big screen / PHT for movies.
@mannyo1221,
That totally worked, I feel kinda dumb for not figuring that one out. Thanks! The app is working perfect now. I have taken my laziness to new level:)
