Garbage I'm not the only one. My neighbor has the same problem. Plex developers should be outsourced. Might get a better product. Maybe if the developers would spend less time responding with garbage comments might have a product that actually works.
Judging from reading your posts on this forum, WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?

Then ask for a refund and move on.
Life's too short to be worked up about some random media center software.
I'm satisfied enough with it to have my family use it as the primary plex app in the house (both in our living room and also in my bedroom).
The only real problems have to do with feature parity with other apps. The Roku has all the features I need, but the layout and visual elements of the XBox app are just so much nicer.
Here's what's missing or not working as well (off the top of my head):
* When I watch a show from "On Deck" the episode does not update well when finished watching a particular episode. In any other menu, the watched status does not update immediately as it does on other clients. Probably a simple bug somewhere!
* I have a series that I am watching kind of randomly. Every other app has a "recently viewed shows" selection when going to the TV library. No such thing here, which makes finding a show I am watching regularly ONLY easy if I am watching in order. My only real option is to just jump to a "letter". Bring in the options on other clients (I have nearly 200 series, so these are important!)
* Home Videos are a pain to navigate. It wants to only sort them by the file name, and not by folder. Anyone who has thousands of home video files taken from an iphone, or Windows Phone (or the like) know that the file names are useless. I'm not going to go and rename thousands of video clip. Allow me to go in and view them by the folders I have them in (like I can with photos).
* WHERE ARE MOVIE EXTRA FEATURES!?!? This feature has been requested by so many for years, and it's still only on a few clients. Please port it to XBox 360 (and iOS for that matter!)
A really odd on that is getting a oddly annoying. Whenever I start a video (movie, tv show, etc.), it plays the first 1-2 seconds of the video and then starts over. Not a big deal, but really odd.
This is a GREAT start, and I really am excited to see the app continue to be actively updated!
I’m a long time fan of Plex, and the 360 app manages its core function perfectly. That is to stream all media file types through my console, to the TV.
The dev’s success is in spite of Microsoft’s unnecessary restrictions which tried to force people into using .wmv files.
SUGGESTIONS:
Am I missing a setting? I don’t like the horizontal-only browsing of my libraries. It’s cumbersome for large collections, and I’m surprised there’s no vertical browse similar to all other Plex apps and the web service. And, it takes me a good few clicks to get to my libraries.
Why isn’t the app set up similarly to the Plex Home Theatre?!
Enable the user to set a custom default setting, rather than starting every file at 720p.
I voted “unsatisfied”, it’s quite critical how easily I get to library, and browse through it.
I just read that currently the Plex 360 app only supports 720p for Direct Play. I'm assuming this means that my mostly 1080p collection is being transcoded, even after painstakingly converting files to be managed natively by the Xbox 360. And comments made by r-tech73 are spot on, tv shows are not handled well at all. On any app, on any device, if I'm watching an episode for which I have the whole season, there should be an immediately accessible option to play previosy/ next episode.
To summarise...
- Vertical Browsing:
Similar to all apps and the PHT, a vertical browsing option would make it much easier to browse through a large collection.
- Enable Custom Default Setting:
All good here!! I'm not sure if something has been tweaked, but after setting "Maximum Quality" for one movie, it seems to be set on this for anything that I watch.
- TV Show Navigation:
If I watch an episode on deck, after it's done, I can only watch the next by navigating to my TV Show library, finding the show, and then the next episode. That can be improved with a standard "previous/next" episode to be available on any tv episode that is part of a season, no matter how any one particular episode is accessed.
- User Access Restriction:
A sidenote. Using this required I buy a Plex Pass, so I got to checking out the Plex Home function. I would like to add a user, so that when they come and stay, they can access my media while on the local network, but not elsewhere. Can an option be added to the "Restrictions" panel?
Thanks for the hard work, and it's always good to hear what devs think!
its a good starting ground.. its very hard to re watch "watched" episodes behind "unwatched" ones and it has some difficult navigation issues at times. hoping that there are some good patch releases and feature releases coming soon :)
You asked, so i'm responding. I'm not satisfied. Audio is a BIG thing to me, and makes a huge difference when watching movies. Currently the app does not pass on 5.1 surround. My receiver says it is receiving a digital signal, but only outputs stereo. So now i'm going to hook it up an alternative way so i can receive analog audio and let the receiver decode pro logic surround, but this is very disappointing.
Now don't take this the wrong way, i'm just being honest. I love plex and recommend it all the time. I was so excited to try out the xbox app and thought it would really help keep my components slimmed down (WAF factor). But this limitation is a deal breaker. I'm going to try it for a little bit. I like the interface, and streams video way better than trying to use dlna. I give props for this, and is the reason i'm going to try it for a little longer.
I understand it could be a limitation of the 360, but as an end user it hurts.
Thanks for all the work put into plex and the corresponding features/apps.
I want to be able to setup a playlists of my kids favorite shows and movies. I have a 2,4, and a 6 year old. They barely even watch the tv when its one but if the program or movie goes off they are bugging me to come back in there and get something playing again. I would love if xbox 360 app could use the playlist.
I'm unsatisfied because it doesn't work. At all. We see our movies/TV shows listed, but when we try to actually play one it says something to the effect of "There was an error communicating with your server. Make sure it is turned on and try again". It is on, and clearly able to communicate because all titles are listed. It's only when we try to play one that the error comes up. Maybe we just don't have something set up properly, but if it's seeing the titles available, I'm not sure what more to do.

Rather than stick your issue at the bottom of a 6 page thread, you should start your own thread giving as much detail as possible and possibly attaching logs.
See the bottom of my signature for links on how to report issues and how to get logs.
I'm having trouble with the xbox360 app and new plex server. All of my mp4 files seem to transcode the video only and direct play audio, these same files play fine thru dlna and xbox360 video player. what is going wrong?
I voted satisfied and like the direction. However.......I have one xbox 360 for a house hold of 6. I have various ages to cater to. So having profiles/users are critical to my streaming happiness. Since this app does not support it as of yet, I do not use it as my main video streaming source. So I install and uninstall it, testing and looking at the new functionality but that is all.
I would love to see EMBY's user management GUI, in that when I pull up the app regardless of whom is signed into the xbox live account to present me with icons for user to sign into and also allow me to hide the admin user, over here on plex pass.
