POLL: are you satisfied with the Plex Xbox One app?

Overall, I am very satisfied with the app!
As I've posted before, most of my recommendations are basic ones that are probably already being worked on. Obviously I'd like to see my other libraries (music), access my channels, and view extras / trailers, One Guide integration, and tv theme songs. As far as actual new features go; I really like the options menu on movies that gives options like "More by *Sam Raimi*" or "More with *Ben Affleck*" but I wish I could filter my library by actor/director and not have to find a movie I know someone's a part of and go through the sub menu. On that note, it would be nice to have instead of just "Browse" as an option, for it to say "Browse by" and then give the option to select by Date added, Resolution, Actor, etc. Also, voice as an input could change the way I use Plex, as Kinect is awesome. Some voice input ideas that Tyson had teased that I was most excited for: "Xbox, Turn on subtitles." "Xbox, Change the language to French." "Xbox, Go to the start of the movie." "Xbox, Go to the start of this chapter." "Xbox, Go back 30 seconds." Lastly, I really like the "Top movies by ..." and "Top movies in *genre*" sections on the dash, but it would be really neat if there was a drop down menu with it that let me pick the particular genre/actor/director and have it show me the top movies in that category (based on Rotten Tomato score maybe?)

Again, I am very satisfied with the app as it stands. I have experienced minimal bugs, with none of them ever crashing the app. Any news on when the first update may drop?

Also very happy so far. Otherwise I have the exact same feedbacks than you Sagable94.

I voted unsatisfied simply due to the fact that if the plex site experiences issues I cannot watch locally streaming content. Hopefully they fix this quickly and release an update on the xbox store.

Sure, but how does this equate to it being a beta release with a bunch of bugs present?

It was clearly stated to be a Plex pass members release,

I am highly satisfied, up until recently I was using XBMC, saw there was an app for Xbox One and Windows Phone so decided to give it a trial run, 3 days later I’m in love with Plex

When Plex launches and runs, its great.  But I am having issues where it stalls on the plex launch image and never actually launching.  I haven't been able to figure out what the cause is, but the solution is to uninstall and install.  Kinda annoying.

i'm pretty neutral on it. on one hand it's awesome as it gives me a reason to cobble all of my streaming services and live TV onto one device in my living room (still waiting on HBO Go though). on the other hand the plex experience has a long way to go to match the PHT or even PMC on my google tv/roku devices. the tiles UI is nice, but it's mostly just a launcher for now.

I have been extremely happy with Plex on pretty much everything they have ever done. And I like the XBox One app, although even for a preview it seems like they wanted to just get it out. Its definitely the most feature-removed release they have done to plex pass subscribers, again just playing a bit of a devils advocate here, since its fine for me (still can't wait to jump to Android TV though).

I do think it will be a popular app making it hopefully at the top of the development front (which is a great thing), it is just lacking too many things at this point to make it a replacement for me. That being said, im still using it strong since I hate the UI of the FireTV's Plex app to much ;)

I wouldn't say I was "satisfied" really, given it's quite the shell of a Plex interface. Not sure if this is because it's a 1st release, or limitations in the Xbox One. But I'm very happy that it's been released, haven't really suffered any bugs, and am looking forward to future updates.

This is good to know, as I just ordered a Fire Stick - which apparently uses the same UI as Fire TV and uses the same Plex app.  It's only a $19 USD loss, though, so no big deal.  Might use it for a secondary monitor in the den or kitchen, anyway.

HAs never worked for me and i paid $5 for this POS. Not happy at all.

I will be totally satisfied when pictures, music and video channels are available. Good work with movies though  :)

I should elaborate more, the UI is clearly not made for a television, which is why i don't like it. There are also a lot of bugs and since the FireTV is probably not picking up Android L, I don't think (no proof, just my own guessing), Plex will slowly give up on it since there really is no benefit for them to maintain 2 versions of the Android based app.

Overall, it isn't bad for a preview. I can't say I'm completely satisfied though.

Here's my wish for future releases:

-Playlists!

-Shuffle series/playlist

-Binge Watch mode

-Channels

-Cinematic trailers

I haven't tried out subtitles for anime and other foriegn stuff, can anyone confirm that they work or not?

I look forward to the next release.

Unsatisfied. This release is half baked. Partially its impaired by the Xbox one itself. And partially due to the rush to get this thing out. I have been happy with plex for a while now on my htpc. It died and reading all the hype about the Xbox one app I decided to go out and buy an Xbox one for plex only. As of right now it’s a huge waste of money due to no direct playing. Guess I will use the horrible UI plex app on the Roku 3. Have a very bitter taste in my mouth for plex right now. Glad I didn’t go with lifetime pass for this product. Plex team needs to make one thing a focus and master it and stop spreading themselves so thin across all theses devices.

UNSATISFIED !

I can't use Plex app in my Xbox One with subtitles on. When I choose subtitles my movie just freeze/buffering. We need external subtitles support!!

Will be "satisfied" once Music added and then can remove the Roku box (NowTV) as that's all I use it for.

Is the one on the Xbox One the same as the one on the Windows Store (for modern windows)?

Is the one on the Xbox One the same as the one on the Windows Store (for modern windows)?

No. It is a totally separate app

I didn't vote. I'm not completely dissatisfied, but I'm not satisfied either... I'd say I'm hopeful. There's a few issues with browsing and playing back media, but I love the way Plex can identify and sort media. One particular bug I've run into with the app is when selecting a show's folder with multiple episodes and attempting to play, you cannot select the episodes there is only a play button, and pressing the play button only creates a black screen with a loading symbol that never does anything. However if I go back to Recently Aired shows instead of using Browse, I can find single episodes there, and when pressing play they play straight away. I'm looking forward to eventual local playback of course so I can free up my network for my other activities.

I'm still getting used to the server side. I had an issue where almost every show's poster was the same on the Windows server. Upon further detective work I figured out that Plex was using the hidden folder thumbnail (folder.jpg or whatever) which came from a media file I had long since deleted. Nowhere in the settings of Plex media server could I find an option to use the folder thumbnail as poster automatically. It only cleared and downloaded the correct posters when deleting the hidden images and forcing a refresh. Whilst this isn't directly related to the Xbox One app's performance, because it relies on the Server it's still part of the overall Xbox One app experience.

For those buying an Xbox One just for the Plex app, can't tell if lying, trolling, or stupid. Plenty of cheaper ways to use Plex on your TV.

Plays my media without issues. Love it!
