Normally my setup is solid with 4K video of any stripes to any device. However this combinatio is not playing well. For some reason I can start the video from the beginning and it will play back clean. If I stop and restart, no good…it just sits and spins seemingly forever. It may move ahead a frame or two from there but essentially no more playback.
Same if I try to FF or REW no good. I am using Direct Play from the Shield PMS to the Shield Plex client or any device on my LAN that can use the Plex client with the same results. Switching to a lower resolution via conversion is no good either, it will just simply sit and spin.
The file is sitting on a NAS wired through the router into the Shield, also wired in. And again, no other files have made my Shield break a sweat to this point.
I can figure where the problem is occurring. I am leaning toward HEVC as I am not sure I have other files encoded this way or not. Maybe it’s HDR? Just don’t know.
