Poor video performance

I have similar problems on my win 10 server and any player installed on my appleTV, iPad or iPhone. There seem to be problems with transcoding, even if I set up everything on highest!

The same I had before the latest update! How to get Plex to “Direct Play” my videos???

Please post a screenshot of the Now Playing section of the server Dashboard from your web browser while playing a video on your iPad, iPhone, or AppleTV. It should look something like:

@darcilicious Thank you very much for your help! After hours of experimenting I was somehow able to fix this issue but I’m not satisfied of the way that it works now. Ok, here it how I got this fixed:

1. I did enable the full remote access in my Plex Server
2. I did enable the “experimental video player” and did disable the “automatic video quality” within the Plex App on my AppleTV
3. I did purchase the Plex Pass because without it I was not able to enable the experimental video player

With that configuration I am able to stream “direct stream” from my PC but I’m not satisfied with somehow beeing forced to enable remote access even if I do not want stream outside my local network! Thus, my questions are:

• Is there any setup of “direct streaming” without having remote access enabled? (I use Plex since years and never had remote access enabled!)
• I did a screenshot of the server Dashboard from my web browser while playing a video on my AppleTV. The IP Adress shown in “Local (xxx.xxx.x.xxx)” is not the private IP like 192.168.1.xxx. It shows my public IP Adress accessable from outside. I don’t want that! See screenshot 1.
• Is this new that now you have to subscribe to Plex Pass to have direct stream within local network?
