Popular Tracks and Sorting

I recently had to reset my PC and re-installed Plex Server. Knowing I had to clean up my the files and meta-data was expected.

However, I cannot figure out how to get rid of the Popular Tracks that are displayed for each artist. Also, my libraries sort EP’s Compilations, etc, and I do not want it to do that. I had everything listed as albums, but I can’t figure out how to fix that either.

I know I am probably missing something obvious, but getting frustrated looking over all the settings trying to fix these two issues.

Thoughts?

Disable popular tracks

  1. Open > Manage Library > Edit...
  2. Switch to the Advanced tab
  3. Disable Popular Tracks

Disable grouping by release types

  1. Open Settings > [Server Name] > Library
  2. Set Group albums by type to disabled

You might need to refresh the library’s metadata for the changes to take full effect.

I’m not seeing either of those settings anywhere. I attached some screenshots of what I am seeing, and I am in the Plex server.

Edit: I found the 2nd setting to diable the group, but still stuck on the first one to disable Popular Tracks.

The 1st option might not be available with the legacy „Personal Media Artists“ agent.
With the combo Plex Music / Plex music as scanner and agent, it’s listed a bit further down the Advanced tab.

Keep in mind that disabling popular tracks might deprive you of some Plexamp features.
