Current versions. Popular Tracks on the Artist page for Music will have that artist’s popular tracks, but oftentimes will be pulling them not from the album that contains the most popular version of them. Sometimes live albums, remixes will sub in for the correct, original album. How can that be fixed?
Popular Tracks are flawed in plex due to how track/albums are scanned and added to the plex db. It’s a first come first serve type of thing.
I’ve struggled with this in the past but did come up with a solution.

Wow, thanks for all that. I’m on Windows, but I see that what I need to do is have the ‘albums’ have an earlier timestamp than the compilations and live albums. Seems like a headache.
Yeap, massive headache but I’ve no other solution to get accurate popular tracks. I’ve also no confidence plex will do anything to improve the situation. Maybe I’ll be proved wrong.
One potential workaround – if you use Lidarr to manage your library, it has an ‘advanced option’ to set the dates of the tracks to the original release date of the album. I assume this would help, because the first instance of a track occurring is probably the most popular version (there are exceptions of course).
