Running 1.10.1.4602 on 2008R2 stable since it was released, after installing some overdue windows updates yesterday playback lasted at most 15 minutes before PMS would crash out with rather empty logs.
Rolled back removing these:
KB4056894 KB890830 KB4033342 KB4055532 KB2310138
And all seems well again.

Installed 1 by 1 to solve this, KB4055532 is failing so discovered this. May have been the root cause.

On January 18, 2018, update 4055532 was re-released to include an update for .NET Framework 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, and 4.7.1 for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (KB4074880). Update 4074880 replaces update 4055002 for this configuration, and prevents the issue that is described in the following Knowledge Base article:
