Possible to use Norwegian content rating?

Hello,

Is it possible to change the content rating (age restriction) to Norwegian?

I see that many films have a lower age restriction in Plex than what is recommended in Norway.

Yeap, in the advanced movie library settings you can change this to your desired country. You will need to refresh the metadata when changing this so plex can download the changes.

BTW, Just be aware that if a certification does not exist for a movie in your county plex will fall back to the US certification. So, if something is missing you can add it to imdb or tmdb yourself.

I see that I already have selected Norway as Certification country.

I still get the wrong rating on several movies. You say I can add them to imdb or tmdb myself? What do you mean by that?

Plex scrapes its metadata from multiple online sources. So you can create an account on imdb and/or tmdb and add the certification for the movie yourself for your country.

Example Entergalactic (2022) - Changes — The Movie Database (TMDB) where I added the certification for a movie today for Ireland which did not exist beforehand.

I’m sorry if I made this appear more complicated than it actually is. Here are some steps if you want to give it a try …

  • create an account at https://www.themoviedb.org
  • search for the movie you want to add a norwegian certification to
  • select overview and then edit from that movie
  • from the resulting page then select release information

You should see something like this for the movie …

Now select the Add New Release button and fill in the information for your Country, Norway.

Once the change is added it then takes 48-72 hours for it to make its way to plex. You can refresh the metadata on that movie at that point and it will pickup the certification you added.
