If I set it to Australia, it fetches correctly. That movie doesn’t have a US rating.
If you don’t always want Australia’s ratings, you could -
Create an Australia-specific library for relevant movies
Change to Australia temporarily. Filter by NR, refresh metadata for just those items, and then lock the content rating field for those items. And then change back to your home country.
This is what I have been doing, though of course it not just Australia, but many different countries.
I think there should be an international option, where if a classification is not found in one primary country, the classification from another country is used.
I have found that “Younger Kid allows TV-Y, G, TV-G and equivalent” is severely limited and does not include France’s “Tous Publics” which is a problem.
I have customise to for all the different classifications out there.
I wonder how it would impact the sharing & child profile settings. You can’t perfectly map ratings between countries, but they’re all pretty arbitrary anyway.
It shouldn’t be the default, because there are strict parents who want to follow their national system exclusively, but having even a dozen countries different ratings systems makes it easy to quickly and easily consolidate to your preferred system.
I forwarded this suggestion, because a rating for “all audiences” should be included in any rating profile.
Please report other inconsistencies with the profiles. It is not always possible to fit the many international rating systems into a few simple profiles, but with obvious situations like the “Tous Publics” case, it is a no-brainer.
We have about 30 variations of “all audiences” ratings that are recognized for the Younger Kid profile. Both fr/Tous publics and fr/U are included.
Good to know. I have found that the metadata downloaded by plex with France set as the classification system can either be Tous publics or Tous PublicsorTous Public` so maybe that was the problem?
The real problem for me is that each country’s classifications are very limited for anything other than their native language and I either need to check them manually, or hope that by cycling through USA, Canada, UK, France, Australia, Singapore, etc. some kind government censor somewhere has classified it for me at some point.
Would be great if that multi-country classification system could be automated.
