The Aftermath (2019) pulling the wrong content rating

Server Version#: 1.32.1.6999

The subject film “The Aftermath (2019)” is matching correctly, but is pulling a content rating of “PG-13” when it should be “R”. I checked IMDB (title tt5977276) and it is correctly listed as “R” there. What is causing this to pull the wrong rating? How can this be corrected so it pulls the correct data? It’s a big issue when you have user restrictions based upon content rating.

Thanks

It’s coming from → https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/433502-the-aftermath/edit?active_nav_item=release_information.

If you have evidence and are sure this movie indeed has a R rating in the US then I suggest you edit it directly on TMDB. I don’t want to edit it myself as the US is not my region and I cannot be 100% certain this is the correct rating.

Thank you. I was able to correct this and several other titles. Do you know how long it typically takes for Plex to be able to fetch it?

Usually 24 - 48 hours.

Monitor the listing at watch.plex.tv, https://watch.plex.tv/movie/the-aftermath-2019.

When it is updated with correct info, refresh the metadata for the movie on your server.

Are we talking about the same movie?
What would be reason to slap an R on it, considering that it’s rated 13 or 12 elsewhere?

Oh, it’s got nude scenes. That must be very bad for adolescents.

In Ireland this movie has a official certification of 15a, see https://www.ifco.ie/en/ifco/pages/D3D2CBE9004A0604

So for the US and their MPAA system a R certification would seem appropriate. In saying that, their whole system is strange to me but I’ll not get into that here :smirk:

Thank you to everyone. Yes, the MPAA system does slap an R on most anything that has nudity. I had also come across a few other titles that were incorrect due to violence and I updated those as well.

If a title isn’t in TMDB, but it’s in IMDB, do I need to create it in TMDB or will Plex grab it from IMDB as a secondary source?

It should work like that, yeah. But there are more complicated results in IMDb, which may not always get picked up by Plex. Particularly older ones, which were specific to a certain part of the U.S. or were overturned later.

Thank you for the information.
