Possibly stupid question

I’m not sure if this should be obvious or not, so forgive me if this is a stupid question. My current upload speed is 5 Mbps (CenturyLink is garbage, but at my present location, that’s my only option). My question is: If I’m watching a movie/TV show on the same network my Plex server is on, am I limited by that 5 Mbps? Or in other words: if I watch a movie that is showing in plex as 13 Mbps, is that more than my crappy network up speed can handle?

I’ve always been under the assumption that my upload speed doesn’t really matter if the videos are on my same network, but recently I’ve been having buffering that’s starting to make me question whether that’s the case.

Local lan connection are not limited by upload speed. You may have other problems in your network or clients but the upload speed should not be one of them.

You did not mention it but I have this feeling…
