Poster changes fail to update, shows a black rectangle

Hello there. The fact that I haven’t posted here in over a year is a good indication of how stable and excellent Plex on Synology is, so thanks to the devs and everyone who contributes to this software.

This is a minor issue, but a frustrating one: many of my movies have less-than-ideal default poster cover art. Often it’s the one that has tiny printing, so I want to change it. When I select a new poster, 80% of the time the result is a blank poster (the dark grey box). 20% of the time I luck out and the one I pick does load. I can always revert to the default - the first poster in the grid - but most of the ones I pick won’t load.

I’m not sure where to start to debug this, and I didn’t see this question posted here already. Suggestions?
