I’ve got multiple tv shows in my library, all showing the correct meta data, posters and playing the theme tunes.
I’ve just added The West Wing, as I’m going through ripping my DVDs. Once added to my library, its showing the correct meta data for episodes, playing the theme tune, it even shows the correct episode artwork, but it isn’t showing any poster artwork for the series. When I go to the posters section of the Get Info, it doesn’t show me any choices.
I’ve tried refreshing the meta data, removing it from my library and then putting it back and nothing works. The posters just won’t show.
Any ideas on why this might be happening, or how I might solve it?
Many thanks
This sounds like some of the data at TheTVDB is still missing.
I would raise it to them and ask
I’m having issues with all of Game of Thrones.
In my debug logs for TheTVDB I see the following:

And that goes on for every episode of Game of Thrones in my library.
probably related to this pinned note:
I have this issue as well “INFO (init:1067) - Invalid header value”
Did you ever figure it out?
I think it must have been a TVDB issue. A few days after posting it started slowing correctly. Hope your solution ends up being as painless as mine.
Yep!
There’s a Python fix that you can use here Movie and TV Posters not Loading After PMS-2058
It looks like its from the new Python HTTP libraries they’re using.
Hoping for a fix in a later Plex update.
Hmm… I’m on Docker so that might be easier said than done. I’ll try rolling back my version to see if it helps.
You can apply this fix to Docker, you just need to run
docker exec -it NAME_OF_YOUR_CONTAINER sh
That will let you work inside of the contianer and make changes to the filesystem.
They won’t persist through contianer recycles, but it’s a short-term patch.
I urge not changing code for only one series.
TheTVDB still has problems since their restructure.
My recommendation is to first exhaust
- Verification of naming & structure
- Verify embedded metadata (mp4 files) is not causing an invalid match
- The media is “Plex Dance’d” (move out, scan, empty, clean, moved back, scan)
-
Definitely good to go. I’m meticulous about the naming of my stuff.
-
Verified, and also the series is matching and downloading plots, cast, etc correctly. Just not posters.
-
Tried that too

Here’s a log:
com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb.log (84.3 KB)
Thanks for the log.
I see the invalid headers.
This is PMS ver 1.18.2.2058 or higher?
Yes, Version 1.18.3.2129.
Breaking Bad is only one example I was playing with, the issue is for all TV series at this point. Additionally, the solution posted by @connor_greene worked a treat. After editing the python script, unmatching the series, and rematching, it all worked perfect.
