Posters/Covers - Plex dont find it

Hello.
I got some issues with Covers/Posters. I reinstall Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS minimal on my Dedi Server. After that i install Plex and put just 1 Movie to see if this works. The Movie called “Baby Driver (2017).mkv”. Plex dont find any Info’s or Poster for this Movie. No matter what i’m trying to do or change in the Options.
Version 1.9.7.4460 is installed.
On my local Server with Ubuntu, there works everything perfect. Even the same Video/File works perfekt, the Cover and all Infos will be found by Plex.

Can someone help me? I dont know what else i could do.

I also noticed a lot of missing posters this morning after a night of scanning. Had to leave for work so didn’t have time to investigate further, but maybe some agent server is/was down?

Nope, my local Server founds everything with the same Agent.

Thanks, but that doesnt help me. I dont need to put an extra Picture into the same Folder.
On my local Server, which has Ubuntu too, i just need to put some new Videofiles in it and Plex will find it perfectly. Only on my Dedi i got this issue, and i dont understand why.

Does user plex have permission to read the files or does only your username have access?

Yes, the User Plex has the Persmission to read the Files. Some Files are found, some not. The files that are not found are found by my local server without any problems.

I have 2 Servers.
One is my local Server at Home, which is a Dell T20 with Ubuntu 14.04.
The other is a Dedicated Server also with Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS minimal.

If your dedicated server has one media file on it. the logs should be small.
May I have the full set of logs ?

The problem is not solved yet.
It’s not just posters that Plex does not find. Sometimes its also the year, info etc.

The errors showing (curl error 28) from the agents. Recently TvDB went offline and caused problems.

It’s a good idea to clean the caches and let things get back to normal

  1. Stop PMS
  2. sudo rm -rf /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Caches/*
  3. Start PMS

The caches are now clear and you can refresh missing metadata

Start PMS

I have tried this several times. It did not help.

I have the same problem since yesterday. The movie is on themoviedb with several images and posters and in plex I don’t have anyone.The log shows the same error as above…

“Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 28”

i have tried to clear the cache but its the same.

May I have both your log file sets?

I would like:

  1. Stop PMS
  2. Clear the caches
  3. Start PMS
  4. Perform the refresh / metadata update for ONE item which needs it
  5. When quiescent, capture the logs (Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs)
  6. In your post, with the ZIP file, please let me know if you have the Local Media Assets agent enabled, it’s position in the list of agents, and the file extension (MP4, MKV, etc)

I have scanned all my movies with these agents. Theres no change If I use Plex Movie or The Movie Database as Agent. Its an MKV file created with makemkv (same as the other 625 Movies…)

what is the exact filename for Coco please?

I created a dummy file and the following was returned almost immediately

The movie has assigned correctly, title and some informations also there. I have the problem with every movie that I added since 3 days.

Vorher hats nicht geklappt und jetzt findet der deinen Film? Du scannst auch mit PlexMovie, ich mit MovieDataBase und bei dem Film (Dhoom 2) keine Chance. Was hast du geändert?

Bei anderen nur teilweise.
