First off I’m not a pro by any means. I am running a Plex server off of a system I use to use as my gaming rig.
OS: Unraid 6.9.2
Docker: Official Plexinc Docker container
Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950x
RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3200
SSD: WD 1TB M.2 2280 PCIe (used for transcoding only)
Storage: WD Red Plus 12TB NAS x6 (2 are Parity drives rest are storage)
Internet: 1Gig Fiber
I have a large library a few short of 7000 movies and 142 TV series and recently my plex has been removing posters from my movies. I had about 45 or so movies that the poster went missing. I went through every single movie and fixed them but found more about a week later. I do modify posers to not include text so a lot are not the default given by plex it is in the list available by default. I only use custom posters on DBZ movies so they match. I have noticed that the system created image slice from the movie that it creates before a match is the first in the list of posters and it is using the image on the ones that are missing posters. I don’t really want to refresh all the metadata again as i did this a few months ago and its a lot of work fixing not only posters but fixing the ratings and such that plex will not assign ratings to the movies.
