Preferred language bug

When I create a new managed user it is impossible to change the media preference language. I put French favorite language, but all media remain on the English language by default.

Did you change it for your managed user or yourself? They have their own settings.

I make them in the settings of the managed user.

I created a managed account. Then I connect to it and I go to (Account -> audio & subtitles) and I check “Automatically select audio tracks and subtitles” then I put French for the audio. However, once backed up and back on the media, it remains on the default English language.

Before the last update of Plex server I had already done managed account and I did not have this problem.

Can you play something with a managed user and then get me the PMS log so I can see if PMS is even applying that setting?

If I may augment,

Debug logging does not consume more disk space than with it off.
The entire logging mechanism has a fixed maximum size.

Keeping the default DEBUG ON, and VERBOSE OFF is the best way.
It guarantees we have enough, but not too much, information to work with.

Can you provide me the XML for that movie? The logs indicate that it couldn’t find a french audio track.

On the other hand from my main account the option to choose your default language works very well. Only with managed accounts does it not work.

Can you give me the version “Plex Media Server 1.18.1.2019” for linux AMD64 for me to see if from this version it still works or not

I can’t open that rar. Can you just change the extension to txt and update that?

We don’t have old versions. Check your update folder in your application folder. You might have it there.
