I have QNAP 253B. And I am facing issue with Music Libraries. When I try to create a Music Library, the Premium Music Library option is not presented.
I am running Plex Server version 1.16.0.1226.
I am sure I was able to create Premium Music Library in the past but wasn’t using Plex for several months as I was working on curating my music.
I am lifetime Plex Pass subscriber.
PMS 1.16.1 and above is required now. (Engineering & Operations changed metadata provider).
When I seek updates, there are no updates available. Do I need to do something manually to get version 1.16.1?

As I had nothing on my PMS, I completely removed it from QNAP server and installed version 1.16.1.1291. But I still don’t see any option for Premium Music Libraries.
The Options menu itself is not showing up.

It does seem to be a bit confusing at the moment.
So I have version 1.16.1.1291. It was fresh installation. I still tried signing out and reclaiming but nothing seems to be working at the moment.

I apologize. Even I’m a bit confused about what’s happening with the metadata.
What I do know is June 30 vs July 1 makes a huge difference.
That sounds like either a contractual date or a scheduled operations change date.
Most of the details are being kept on the business side of Plex and that’s fine as long as it works out here 
What I know about this is:
I am not totally convinced it’s working out here (yet) 
tbh (at least from my perspective) I think it’s probably better to hold off creating new Music libraries until the dust settles…
I have no idea what happened to the notification email about the changes that’s been mentioned, as am sure I didn’t get it. (at least not yet)

With everything in flux, on a weekend, now is not the best time.
EDIT:
I am learning, the option page is being obsoleted. There will be a single type of “Music” library just as their is a single type of “Movie” library. This avoids the problem of having different music library types (which have been very problematic).
Plex Pass features of music itself are now integrated into the base library type automatically. There is no longer a need to select it. PMS knows, based on the Plex Pass itself, what to do. It no longer will rely on Music library type.
I will learn more when HQ opens US Monday (Pacific time) and follow up here.
Yeah, I will wait for some time before I create my music library. Please share what you do find out.

Yes, I now have the announcement in hand.
So those features are being tuned off, but the replacement is not being turned on today? I find it vary disappointing the features are turned off without the replacement ready to go…
That announcement made it seemed like the new features would be available today… But looks like it was edited to say it wasn’t going to be…today.
Who knew today would be the wrong day to start looking at this!

Any idea about the timeframe? When can we expect to see a new or updated Plex Music service?
I only know what is stated in the announcement. This is all new to me too.
I’m on version 1.16.1.1291 and I cannot create Premium Music Libraries as well. So from the sounds of this thread, I won’t be able to create one until 1.16.2? Or I won’t be able to create one until some magic is done on Plex’s cloud backend that we are waiting on that may be available in the next couple of days? When I check for updates, it says I’m “Up to date”.
