Premium Music Library Not Avialable on My QNAP T253B

Do you know if the engineering team would eventually change the way the scanner works ?

I know lots of people who would love to be able to store their music in the cloud. Which is currently unreliable, if not impossible, due to the time needed to scan the library (if mounted using rclone or another mounting solution).

I think adding such a “in the cloud music hosting” solution would be fantastic. Just have a look at vox for instance, offering unlimited music cloud hosting… it would be a very competitive solution plex would have then.

Just my two cents (and my own dreams) :slight_smile:

How do I keep myself informed about the state of developement of premium music libraries… I kinda paid a year subcription in May to get the premium music functionalities. Two months later the features that actually motivated me to spend the money are simply gone… That is really disappointing.
Is there any news? How about we start an official Thread with Infos on the ETA and or Developements?

There are 2 ways : subscribe to newsletter (praying for a related news would fall), or to a Plex Server announcement topics (same, praying for a related news would fall).

Be ready to accept that nobody will give a … about what you’d experience as issues.
Many useful functionalities (have) become either broken (sync) or are removed (plug-ins).

You can complain about the fact you paid, and justify why you paid, good for Plex, but your current and perhaps future raised issues will fall into oblivion as many of us here, Plex Lifetime / Plex Pass User. most of the time with no answer…

When I started this thread, I thought it is matter of hours because the switch might be in progress. Hours turned to days, days to weeks, and now weeks to months :slight_smile:

Of course I didn’t knew Plex much few weeks back. How naive?

Yeah, I start to feel this as a serious form of disrespect for long time plex pass users. Some of your users are actually using premium music feature, and you decide to shut it down with no previous notice. and no update about an eventual ETA of the feature to be integrated again.

I will now give a shot to vox premium, which seems to allow me to UPLOAD as many music as I like in the cloud, and seems to have gracenote integration for cover art download. I’ll keep you, music enthusiast, aware of my return of experience.

Lyrics being not available:

I thought of starting a new thread on this but I am not sure if this is related to premium libraries being unavailable. So I am posting it on this thread.

I had recreated my library with 1.16.3 version of the Plex Server. And none of my songs pull lyrics from LyricFind. Is anyone else facing the same issue? Is this something not available until premium libraries are back? Or if someone knows of an existing bug (of which there are so many)?

Lyrics are still working for me. Even on new libraries created after the removal of premium.

Thanks RandomNinjaAtk02 for confirming. Something wrong with my library then. I will wait till the premium features are re-launched. Then re-build to see if it fixes the problem.

At the minimum, you should double check your agent configuration for the library and make sure that Lyrics agent is actually enabled.

Yeah have checked that part and the agent is configured properly. Something else must be amiss.

me also music library broken, premium library broken and also lastfm don’t work with my existing library, I tried to create a new music library e last.fm work, how can I adjust my library to work again?

Engineering previously announced Premium Music was being suspended while they made changes. This was emailed to everyone.

@ChuckPa while I understand Premium Music is currently suspended(still waiting on some kind of timeline on when that will be fixed over 2 months with no updates) shouldn’t the current Agent Last.fm still be working in the current build? We have been reporting it has not been working since premium music was disabled. This would at least provide us some kind of Music meta-data until the new service has been developed.

Last.fm should be working. Do you know how to manually clear the agent caches? They will get clogged up from last.fm (for me a great deal at least)

As for timeline? Engineering never gives one.

Premium isn’t really being “Fixed” as much as it’s being “Replaced” (as shared in the newsletter sent to everyone’s email)
