I am close to giving up on having premium music libraries. If I add more than 500 songs or so, it will not update the scans. It just spins and spins. If I keep it under 500, it loads fine, just slow. The basic library loads fast and looks good. I see that the premium music is plex’s weak point. I am not sure what to try next, if anything. My music is tagged correctly, I have checked it and rechecked it. It just seeems that the premium library cannot deal with a large library. Any suggestions?
Do you have a proper
Music / Artist / Album / Tracks
folder structure on disk or do you put the tracks of several albums into one big folder?
The latter won’t work well/not at all with a premium library.
The folder contains a group of individual tracks, no sub folders. I think that is what you are asking? I just set up a premium library with about 250 tracks and it took less than 5 minutes. I have libraries with 1000 tracks or so that haven’t completed in 24 hours. It’s like it stalls out and the circle just keeps spinning with no activity on the NAS. Basic libraries load fast without issue.
