When I have Fanart enabled, the preplay screens for some TV shows won't load :( Have the latest version of PlexConnect with all the most recent commits, latest version of PMS and an ATV3 with most recent update.

just realised that the atv can't use ÅÄÖ (swedish) letters..
i know the old PIL had a fix for this.. just can't remember what it was atm

Yes. The log file shows me accessing the HBO series 'Sonic Highways' and the Showtime series 'Homeland.' The 'Sonic Highways' preplay screen failed to load and the 'Homeland' preplay screen worked fine.
UPDATE: I figured out what the issue was. Apparently, if there is no artwork downloaded for the season poster of a TV show in PMS, the preplay screens for that show will not load if Fanart is enabled in PlexConnect. Once I manually uploaded the posters to said TV shows through PMS, problem solved! :)

You're right. I should've said I found a work-around until the problem is solved. Hopefully this info helps in figuring it out though ^__^
