As the title says, I have just noticed recently on my 4K Firestick that if you launch a live TV channel from the ‘Recent Channels’ hub from either the ‘Home’ tab or ‘Live TV & DVR’ > ‘What’s on’ when pressing the up button on the remote to enter the live TV guide it no longer works. It now just shows the player buttons. It does still work if the channel is launched straight from the TV guide itself.
I tend to launch a live tv channel from my home tab about 99% of the time, I do not enter guide as it takes an eternity to scroll down to the channels in the 100s so this is important for me as 1) it is a quick way to get a channel playing and 2) I can then open the guide around the HD channels in my EPG, 2 button presses.
Is this a bug?
Thanks.
Player Version#: 8.23.0.27973
EDIT: Added in the live-tv
-streaming tag as this is also a issue with the Live TV on Plex channels too. Scroll down to ‘What’s on now’ and launch a channel from the home tab and you also can’t jump to TV guide by pressing up on the remote.
Anyone? I can’t believe I am the only person that has this issue… I have it on 2 different 4K firesticks in my house. Works perfectly fine and as expected on my Roku Streaming Stick+
@pawseyte Hey, I have just pulled the latest update to my Roku and yes things have changed again, it looks like the preview window has gone and instead the guide is just transparent. It also seems pressing UP to enter the guide is just no longer a thing, instead if you press BACK on the remote it opens the guide on the channel. Importantly this also appears to work when launching channels from the homescreen or what’s on tab!!
Whereas on the android version that just doesn’t work at all, it just loses the EPG context completely when launching from the home screen or What’s On tab.
To reiterate the issue, you cannot get to the TV guide after launching a channel whether it be from ‘recent channels’ or something such as ‘shows on now’ hub. Pressing back or pressing up, neither works you just see the player controls.
