The settings are located under the Server Settings. Turn it off by selecting disabled as shown in the green box.

The classification as compilation is for sure debatable. Maybe try to revert it at MB.
Ok… well I disagree and it’s my music collection. This is why I don’t use MusicBrainz and manually change the metadata for every album. How can I reject Plex’s decisions and control how my music collection is organized?

I don’t mind it being grouped, I mind that it’s often incorrect.
No. That is why it’s best to keep it disabled. It’s a very nuanced “feature” that no audiophile likes in its current form. Plex has not allowed a manual alteration switch to fine tune this. It’s rather black/white but no grey area. Call it stupid, if you will.
MusicBrainz Picard is writing the albumtype into a meta tag.
If you copy that tag and have “Prefer local meta tags” enabled, you might be able to override.

Thanks. In the two editors I have, there’s a selection for Compilation so I would think Plex could reference that value. As far EP, LP, Live, etc., I’m not seeing that attribute.
It would be nice if Plex could enable editing whatever tags they’ve chosen to attached to the track.

LP is not a valid MusicBrainz Album Type, although in your case it does work, because all values not in the list default to Album
The MusicBrainz Album Type embedded tags that Plex uses to put releases into separate categories are:

there are some MusicBrainz categories that are ignored by Plex, such as broadcast, mixtape, dj-mix and spokenword, those typically end up under “Albums”.
Plex unfortunately ignores the standard Compilation tag (True/False), so you have to use the custom MusicBrainz Album Type tag album;compilation or just compilation for Plex to pick them up.
