Hi - apologies if this is not a “plex” thing but an Amazon Fire Stick thing.
On my Amazon Fire Stick, if I leave my Spotify App paused, it just stays there. As is. All day. I like that. That’s desired behaviour. I can go back to it and resume seemingly any time later.
I turned off the screen saver on the Fire Stick.
On my Plex app (plex pass account - streaming from a local Docker Plex server), IF I pause video playback, after a number of minutes, the screen still goes blank and the Plex app seems to go to sleep. It seems to be consistent behaviour. IF I leave photos being displayed on shuffle from a library, after so many minutes and possibly when displaying an mp4 video, the screen goes blank and I have to press buttons on the remote to see the navigation OSD to jump to the next item. I suspect it might be an issue with some media items - will have to see if it occurs often.
I don’t know what expected behaviour is.
1.) Is it expected for the Plex app on the Fire Stick to seemingly go to sleep or something after so many minutes of paused video. (If not I’ll know I have an issue to investigate). As I say, no such “issue” with Spotify.
2.) Is it expected for shuffling through photos (and amongst them .mp4 videos) to occasionally get stuck? As an App feature? A timeout? Or might that be an issue with my media? I’m only suspicious because of (1) else I’d assume it to be a media streaming issue getting stuck. Only just started using the Plex App for photos.
I don’t want to waste time trying to “fix” or investigate “features”.
I’m hoping someone can just tell me - a binary signposting.
EDIT: Ahhh - pretty sure the photo playback getting stuck thing is just an issue with some media. So really just asking about (1).
Kind regards
Dave
