Music Stops after 20m, firestick seems to go to screensaver

I use Plex heavily for music, and I noticed that running on Firestick, after 20m the music stops and the screen goes blank. Interaction with the Firestick will result in the music resuming and the Firestick displaying the home screen.

Possibly some visualisation while the music is playing could prevent the screensaver occurring, but that is not available on the Plex client. More a feature request as opposed to bug, the app does not crash, seems very robust on the Firestick in my experience.

If you want to disable the screen saver…

If for some reason you don’t want to turn the screen saver off you can try this
This will prevent the firestick from going to sleep while you’re inside Plex.

I’ve seen people having this same exact problem even using Amazon music so this is as much a Fire issue as it is a Plex issue.

The only other option that might work is trying out a 3rd party screen saver to see if it works for you any better

I will see how it goes after a reboot. Tried setting it to never this morning but it did the same thing at 20m.

Looks like that screensaver has no effect. It’s like the device goes to sleep, not a screensaver so much, so that could be a red herring.
