this is all trying to play movies from my laptop and it trys to load the previews. i get the same message if i open a movie go down to spcial features and tell it to play the trailer or any extras that is pulled in by the plexpass. i get a different message if i try and play from my roku or and a different error if i try from my xbox. its almost like the system cannot see my plexpass.
When looking at the link in the logs:
https://video.internetvideoarchive.net/video.mp4?cmd=6&publishedid=8129&customerid=112548&fmt=4&videokbrate=5000&e=1644879550&h=85cadb15a11fa3792816056022ff8290
It shows the following in a browser:
So in short, the trailer is no longer avail!
So do you have your scheduled tasks set to Refresh library metadata periodically ?
And for that specific media, do select it, and do a Refresh Metadata on it
yes for the purposes of testing i am on my laptop and i am connected to my PMS by direct IP and Remoted into my qnap nas. yes my system reevaluates meta data 2am-5am i refreshed the meta data on a movie in my inventory went to the link in the plexweb app and clicked to watch the trailer and it just sits there untill it gives me an error or i quit trying to play the trailer.
Okay, could you share the name of the movie please, so I can test?
Maybe we are not handling expired links?
the 2 trailers i have been trying to play are 8MM and 13 Hours both sho to have trailers and 13 hours shows to have extras that were brought in under plex pass
Thanks.
Will look into this, and report back here what I find
Could you please post the XML media info for both?
Ref: Investigate Media Information and Formats | Plex Support
Also please tell me what’s the name of the agent for your library
( Plex Movie or Plex Movie (Legacy) )
i dont have the me
Maybe seeing my settings and what i am clicking on will help. As i have stated before if i set play 0 previews before the movie my movies play just fine my tv shows play just fine. It i set it to play any trailers before the movie it errors and nothing playes.

And if not, please disconnect eth2 and restart your QNAP
Then report back
Ok im not understanding whats going on the way my qnap has been set up for a year now. My gateway and internet traffic such as people outside my house watching plex are on adapter one x.x.x.104. All of my data transfer and backups and data access and watching plex inside my house i have coded to use adapter 2 x.x.x.168. If i disconnect adapter 2 i will loose all access to my nas and all access to my data and backups if i disconnect adapter 1 no one outside my house can watch my plex
In the server settings it gives me a preferred adapter setting is there any way i can use that to accomplish what we are trying to do without disabling my data access
Also i disconnected one of the nic cables and restarted the nas and still having the same issue. I cannot play any previews. If i disable previews all my movies play just fine.
I know, and still digesting that part ![]()
But having two interfaces connected to the same IP Net is bad, and disconnecting the .168 should not stop anything else from working, since that’ll simply go to the other IP address
Okay, looks like that since nothing shows in the logs, that we need to enable more transcoder logging
Go here, and look for TranscoderLogLevel and set that, and only that to verbose
Then restart PMS, reproduce, and upload a fresh set of logs
